WYNDHAM HARBOUR WINS APPROVALMon, 03/05/2010 - 5:07pm — Kathleen
A $440 million marina between Werribee and Geelong (Victoria) was granted approval in April to build on Crown land foreshore. The project received the signed Crown lease to allow development of the land on the Werribee South foreshore. The proposal included plans for a 1000-berth marina and residential development on one of the last remaining undevelopedsites in Port Philip Bay. Wyndham Mayor Heather Marcus said the council wouldensure the future harbour would have a positive impact and meet statutory and environmental obligations. "Wyndham Harbour has the potention to re-position Wyndham as a bayside city, accommodating marine focused leasure and residential facilities," said Cr. Marcus. Developers have reported strong sales in the marina's first land release, which sold out earlier in the year and in the second stage launched in March, which is already 90% per cent sold.
